HSG (Hysterosalpingography)
Imaging of the uterus and fallopian tubes with contrast to assess tubal patency.
Hysterosalpingography is a radiological study used mainly in infertility evaluation to assess whether the fallopian tubes are open and to examine the uterine cavity. Contrast is injected through the cervix and X-ray images are obtained.
The test is performed between days 7-12 of the menstrual cycle; mild cramping is normal.
