Complete Blood Count (CBC)

Basic laboratory test that evaluates the counts and ratios of blood cells.

A complete blood count is the most commonly ordered test for the initial evaluation of anemia, infection, inflammation, allergy and blood disorders. It reports white blood cell, red blood cell and platelet counts along with their subtypes.

A few milliliters of blood drawn from the arm are sufficient and no special preparation is required.
